About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Leavenworth, KS.
This is a TERM appointment not to exceed 13 months.
This is an obligated position.
Duties
Interpret budget policies, directives, and regulations from higher headquarters and prepare local implementing instructions.
Formulate major portions of the budget and develop recommendations to reprogram resources.
Prepare status reports depicting causes for major deviations from programmed targets.
Responsible for both manual and automated portions of budget reporting requirements.
Create system queries in various financial systems and enter data into General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEMS) to track obligations and expenses.
Monitor fund distribution and execution and ensure the distribution of funds is in accordance with approved programs.
Evaluate programmed distribution of available funds against mission and workload objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Financial Management Level 2 Certification within 24 months of appointment.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure (OGE Form 450) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. NOTE: You must submit transcripts.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. NOTE: You must submit transcripts.
