Duties
Perform budget development, execution, review and analysis of most segments of the operational budget.
Research, compile and summarize data for each object class and line item as needed to formulate or revise the annual budget estimate.
Resolve difficult problems of forecasting and predictions.
Assist other budget analysts in researching higher level problems and trains new budget analysts.
Identify, distribute and balance workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the DoD Financial Management Certification Level 2 within 2 years of Entrance on Duty (EOD).

Basic Requirement for a Lead Budget Analys:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with budget planning or forecasting; analyzing and resolving budgetary problems; and coaching or training team members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
