Duties
To exercise first-level managerial authority over the Military Training directorate as the Deputy Director. With the Director, the incumbent shares in managing and directing the day-to-day activities of the Military Training Directorate. The incumbent is authorized to make technical and executive decisions for the Director in all areas of functional responsibility; represents the Director at meetings, conferences, official functions, and community events; and, when acting as the senior-most official in the absence of the Director; possessing the same authority and prerogatives excluding UCMJ authority which is vested in military officers only.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience in academic or staff administration and Air Force platform instruction or secondary or post-secondary educational experience is highly desired. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft to accomplish temporary duty. The employee must obtain and maintain a favorable background check as a condition of employment. Employee may occasionally be recalled to duty or required to work extended hours.
ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES:
An earned master's degree in a closely related leadership, human resources discipline with appropriate staff experience. One year of experience in academic or staff administration and Air Force platform instruction or secondary or post-secondary educational experience is highly desired.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To provide in-depth instruction in, Character Development, and Military Training to prepare and evaluate selected personnel for entry into the United States Air Force Academy. Staff also inspires and motivates cadet candidates through role modeling, career counseling, guidance, and hands-on leadership training; and strives to instill character, dedication, excellence, and discipline required of all professional military members.
Candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Leadership experience in curriculum development and academic assessment is desired.
Applicants will be assessed based on education, evidence of teaching effectiveness, quality of scholarship, and demonstrated service to educational institutions and the discipline commensurate with years in the discipline.

EDUCATION:

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a transcript to be considered OFFICIAL, it should be printed on university letterhead and the registrar's official seal/signature must appear on the transcript. Your transcripts must also reflect the degree awarded/conferred date. Transcripts labeled UNOFFICIAL will not be accepted.

FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
