About the Position: Serves as the supervisory training specialist (Plans & Operations) in support of the institutional training mission supervising multiple subordinate teams with focus on the institutional mission and its associated processes and sub processes with focus on directing development and support of institutional courses, unit training programs and self-development products for both the Active and Reserve Component.
Duties
Apply principles of project management and performs long range planning and development of goals to formulate long range plans and strategies.
Coordinate and integrates Training Development Section activities for programs of instruction over the long-term multi-year production cycles as part of work force planning.
Monitor training activities for accomplishment of training objectives, Utilization of training resources (equipment, ammunition and weapons) levels, provides technical assistance, and directs improvement.
Responsible for the life cycle program management, technical supervision and institutional training/education mission integration of all institutional projects assigned to the brigade.
Maintain a current knowledge of instructional systems development, resource management, Army Training Management System, and the Army Learning Policy and Systems (TR350-70) ADDIE process used to develop Army Learning products.
Provide guidance and technical assistance to brigade training management on force structure planning, resource management, and mobilization planning.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% of time for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes reviewing experience managing and executing strategic planning processes for an organization; providing advice and consultation to officials on highly visible issues relating education programs; providing oversight of curriculum design, research and professional development of faculty and students; preparing briefings, performing program analysis, prioritizing allocation of resources, and developing timetables to meet organizational requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
