About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Material Systems Organization Security Assistance Management Directorate.
Duties
Interfaces regularly with counterparts of other directorates, and Project/Product Managers to coordinate SAMD activities for the program/project involved.
Attends all regular and special team meetings and/or calls meetings relative to the assigned commodities acting independently as required to support the SAMD, the Command, and higher headquarters.
Represents SAMD, as required at meetings and program reviews CONUS and OCONUS.
Assures establishment and updating of delivery schedules to facilitate management decisions and assure meeting customer delivery commitments.
Represents the Security Assistance Management Directorate regarding assigned systems/commodities or serves on a team regarding highly unique/complex cases.
Coordinates, plans, evaluates, controls and resolves problems pertaining to assigned security assistance programs.
Identifies, integrates and monitors activities of various Command functional areas as well as, outside organizations and activities required to provide effective logistics support.
Reviews the Letter of Request, provides Price and Availability/Rough Order of Magnitude estimates, utilizes Total Package Approach concept, and develops or coordinates the development of the Acquisition Requirements Package.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Acquisition Level 3 (Advanced) Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure, Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450, and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position may require occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) serving as a functional interface between Foreign Military Sales (FMS)/ Security Assistance customers and the DoD acquisition; (2) managing the integrated logistics support elements throughout the life cycle of the system (e.g. production, transportation, product assurance, acquisition, etc.); (3) providing logistical support involving variety of vehicle/weapon systems managed by Command (e.g. howitzer, construction and material handling equipment); (4) managing cost schedule performance of DoD acquisition programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
