About the Position: Serves as the Deputy of the Modernization/Integration Division, Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD), Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE). Serves as an authoritative consultant, trainer, planner, and synchronizer of Doctrine and Training product delivery for new and emerging capabilities and systems.
Duties
Responsible for the synchronization and integration of complete training support packages and training strategies in support of fielding existing and emerging Fires combat systems.
Serves as an authoritative consultant, trainer, planner, and synchronizer of Doctrine and Training product delivery for new and emerging capabilities and systems.
Works with DPTMS to identify range and land requirements for new systems. Develops, manages, leads, coordinates, and facilitates Training Support System (TSS) requirements and modernization for Fires, Air Defense and Field Artillery programs.
Incorporate programs and techniques in these courses to allow Faculty to promote Life-Long Learning to all Soldiers and civilians instructed in the institution.
Establish procedures, priorities, and milestones for work accomplishment providing technical oversight.
Develop and Implement research studies.
Identifiy developmental and training needs of employees; provide and/or arrange for needed development and training.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Duties of the position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel away from regular duty station up to 25%.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses may be authorized.
- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: Design and/or deliver technology-enhanced training programs for emerging Fires combat systems and training aids, devices, simulators and simulations (TADSS); Lead a Joint Capability and Integration Development System (JCIDS) Lead the development of System Training Plans (STRAP) or experience in developing training strategies to support new capabilities.(e.g., Initial Capability Documents, Capability Description Documents, and Capability Production Documents); Coordinate force developments to ensure delivery of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities and policy (DOTMLPF-P) solutions to provide the full range of Fires capabilities to the generating and operational force; Review doctrinal literature, training material, leadership and education developments; resolving organizational, operational and technology issues as they relate to Field Artillery (FA) and Air Defense Artillery (ADA) training and testing and Facilitate Training Support System (TSS) operations and modernization for Fires, ADA and FA programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 or above.
