About the Position: Serves as Educational Technician (Registrar) for the Chief of Faculty and Staff Development Division (FSDD), located at Fort Sill, OK.
Duties
Performs work in support of the Student Management System (SMS) responsible for functions related to educational requirements in areas assigned.
Works with staff and faculty in order to provide advice and assistance and make recommendations to further training and educational operations.
Acts as the functional expert operating the Student Management System (SMS) such as the Digital Training Management System (DTMS), Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), and Blackboard, (Bb) Learning Management System (LMS).
Responsible for assisting staff and faculty with Student Management System (SMS) issues, database updates, student updates, and general system operations.
Provides oversight of registrar office operations.
Advise Staff Group Advisors and students concerning Registrar related matters and policy implementation.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) appr. up to 25% of the time away from home station.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) operating a registrar or similar automated system to update student or faculty records; (2) preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and providing transcripts in an educational institution; (3) analyzing data and report preparation for student performance and enrollment status; (4) and preparing academic evaluation reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Student Affairs, School Administration, Business Administration or any degrees in educational administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
NOTE: Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
