You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK) in the NAVMEDOPTRNCMD DET SWMI.
Duties
You will administer information assurance (IA) programs to support the operation of information technology (IT) networks or infrastructures.
You will maintain and ensure the security of information systems in an effective, interoperable, scalable, reliable, integrated, and affordable manner.
You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems.
You will Identify vulnerabilities and risks and implement corrective actions to minimize treats or risks.
You will Conduct diagnostics checks and routine detailed reviews to troubleshoot network and standalone security postures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 631/461, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing and providing security of information systems in an effective, interoperable, scalable, reliable, integrated and affordable fashion;
Experience administering information assurance (IA) programs to support the operation of information technology (IT) networks or infrastructures;
Experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems;
Experience Identifying vulnerabilities and risks and implementing corrective actions to mitigate and minimize potential threats or risks;
Experience conducting diagnostic checks and routine detailed reviews to trouble shoot network and standalone security posture and performance to identify and isolate issue of potential system failures.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
