Located within Navy Region Southwest (NRSW) N9/Fleet & Family Readiness (FFR) Programs, leads the regional Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Information & Technology (IT) team. As a senior leader within the organization, this individual manages all NAF IT systems, NAF IT network security, NAF point of sales systems, NAF timekeeping and business systems, and all other hardware, software, and IT processes related to N9/FFR operations for all Naval installations within the southwestern United States.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- An appropriate, valid driver's license is required.
- Employee must obtain and maintain certification(s) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, December 19, 2005 and subsequent policy updates within 6 months of placement in the position
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Recreation Management or related field or three years of general and 5 years of specialized experience in It Systems.
Preferred understanding of Microsoft operating systems, Citrix systems, and/or network infrastructure.
Preferred knowledge regarding configuration management for point-of-sale systems.
Minimum 2 years direct experience supervising employees including performance management and assignment of work required.
Employee must obtain and maintain certification(s) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, December 19, 2005 and subsequent policy updates within 6 months of placement in the position.
Must be skilled in communicating orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner to individuals or groups at all levels of the chain of command.
Persuasive and presentation skills are also necessary to the position.
Ability to interpret directives, manuals, and Navy instructions with little or no guidance, particularly as it pertains to Department of the Navy Information Technology policy and authorized systems.
Demonstrated skill and ability in verbal and written communications, including the ability to speak extemporaneously in front of all levels, in groups or individually, regarding management information systems, requirements and objectives, and the status of current initiatives and/or projects.
Ability to identify new trends and requirements and adapt programs and policies to be in full support and compliance.
Ability to make sound decisions and defend compliance decisions or position successfully.
Ability to anticipate problems and adjust work operations to meet urgent or changing requirements.
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive analyses of policies and programs, evaluate alternatives, and present improvements and changes to maximize program goals.
Education
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Recreation Management or related field.
OR
Three years of general and 5 years of specialized experience.
