About the Position: This Budget Analyst is located at 5th Armored Brigade, S-8 with duty location of Fort Bliss, Texas.

Duties

Interpret budgetary guidance/directives from higher authority to use in developing effective budget techniques. Resolve problems dealing with major reprogramming, forecasting, and uncertainty involving operating programs that are complex, extensive in scope, and entail multiple funding. Ensure budget requirement fall in line with the Anti-Deficiency Act Develop and implement accounting practices Oversee the development of programs and budgets to controls/monitors the consolidation process Represent the organization in the preparation of proposed program and budget estimates in PRAC meetings

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in GS-7 the federal service or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as 1) experience applying budget and finance regulations, procedures and/or processes for budget formulations; 2) experience preparing various report covering the status of funds, expenses or obligation for budget request; and 3) experience with budget and accounting procedures for an organization used in connection with reimbursable funding and determining propriety of funds control and acceptance. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationBudget ExecutionTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
