About the Position: This position serves as either the Chief, Execution or Reimbursements Branch, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Resource Management Office (RMO) and is responsible for the budget functions which are characterized as having diversely different missions as well as associated record keeping functions.

Duties

Directing and supervising the budgetary functions of the branch. Providing technical advice and assistance to managers on all matters affecting organization mission capability. Directing and coordinating the planning, programming and execution of the Base Support Budget (BSB) budget program. Monitoring the execution, e.g., obligation and expenditure of funds of the directorates and staff offices supported and assures that funds are allocated properly and are obligated in an effective and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent is required to comply with all requirements of this certification program. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • Designated Mission Essential Position: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical assistance to managers on matters related to budget and expenditure of funds; proposing alternative methods of financing unfunded requirements; preparing monthly reports covering status of funds; and providing guidance to managers on financial management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Formulation, Justification and PresentationControl of FundsFinancial ManagementManaging Human Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
