This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Operations Management (OM), Arlington VA.
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the as a Budget and Fiscal Specialist responsible for carrying out procedural program planning and analysis duties required to formulate and present the International Program's current and prior year budget for various complex accounts.

As a Budget and Fiscal Specialistyour typical work assignments may include:
Develops and manages the financial plan for operations.
Ensures the in putting of all required allowance and obligation transactions into appropriate system, like the United Financial Management System (UFMS).
Carries out procedural program planning and analysis duties required to formulate and present the assigned program's (or programs') current and prior year budget for various complex accounts.
Analyzes and provides strategic approaches to matters related to monitoring and tracking financial activities for highly dynamic and volatile agency-wide programs.
Leads numerous and diverse cost studies for a wide variety of complex and critical decision-making processes involving program planning, procurement, contracting, budgetary actions, and financial resources.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Preparing status reports and findings recommending plans to improve efficiency of processing actions and solutions to eliminate recurrence of unfavorable conditions; 2) Conducting reviews of acquisition planning documents and contracts; 3) Maintaining and applying contract documentation, monitors change orders and modifications; 4) Generating documentation for accomplishment of numerous personnel actions and assures completeness, accuracy, and adequacy of documentation.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Performing operational budget execution work for substantive agency programs i.e., at a national level or for large/complex organizational programs; 2) Preparing spending plans and making adjustments as needed; 3) Leading cost studies involving program planning, procurement, contracting, budgetary actions or financial resources; 4) Interpreting highly controversial policies for program management or directors on resource management planning, forecasting, and monitoring; 5) Conducting annual year-end closing activities and reconciles with accounting records.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
