You will serve as a Customer Advocate in the Gun Fire Control System (GFCS) and Naval Fire Control System (NFCS) Office (PD36) within the Portfolio Directorate of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Duties

You will plan, direct, implement and execute technical and logistic programs, policies, and management actions relative to the design, test, development, acquisition, logistics and in-service engineering of GFCS/NFCS systems. You will provide expertise and leadership for development, integration, in-service operations, and maintenance aboard ships equipped with GFCS/NFCS. You will serve as the Point of Contact for existing and new GFCS/NFCS tasking, business development, and leadership to NSWC PHD personnel and support contractors assigned to GFCS/NFCS tasking. You will provide senior level administrative expertise and leadership during the execution of in-service engineering, ship integration, and integrated product support tasking. You will provide project management such as technical review coordination and financial planning. You will develop Task Planning Sheets (TPS), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Statements of Work (SOWs) for in-service engineering, integrated logistics, maintenance, test, and integration.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing, planning and directing ship combat system logistics programs to ensure that services and technical documentation conform with program objectives and meet customer requirements.
