You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Logistics Division (OPNAV N4L) of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.

Duties

You will improve the process within acquisition programs through maximizing defense system sustainment program effectiveness while optimizing the sustainment-related operational costs. You will assess and report on the full spectrum of branch activity, projects, and initiatives and regularly propose fundamental changes to improve the process. You will provide the Branch expert advocacy to the development of Naval logistics policy and the initiation of Navy-wide acquisition-related logistics processes. You will develop and propose Branch plans, courses of action, and new project initiatives to target effective logistics sustainment of Navy weapon systems, equipment, and services delivered to the operational Fleet. You will perform resource sponsorship tasks for major logistics information technology.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Applying knowledge of the resource planning, programming, budgeting process, cost analysis and business case analyses (PPBE, POM/PR); 2) Developing logistic policies; 3) Working knowledge of logistics data management, logistics reengineering processes, strategic sourcing, and long range operational and strategic logistics planning, acquisition programs and processes and Integrated Product Support; 4) Communicating with leadership at the Flag Officer and Senior Executive level.
