This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration, Inspection Division, Office of Professional Responsibility. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as an analyst conducting research and supporting the OPR management portfolio. As an integral member of the team the incumbent reports to and supports the Unit Chief on a wide variety of duties and responsibilities for which extensive experience in DEA programs and operations is required.

As a Management and Program Analystyour typical work assignments may include: Serving as expert analyst on studies or projects that have significant impact on major organizational components. Serving as an organizational specialist on budgeting and financial management issues and activities, including review and verifying transcription services and invoicing. Reviewing new or proposed legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, or requirements regarding ethics, standards of conduct, public integrity, and prohibited practices, to determine impact on OPR operations and management decisions. Preparing memoranda, letters, and teletypes for the signature OPR Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Preparing reports and briefings based on data analytical tools for major organizational components; 2) Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data relevant to program(s) being evaluated; 3) Providing resource recommendations and allocations to senior management; and, 4) Entering data into the tracking and reporting systems. You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in:1) Developing reports based on data analytical tools for major organizational components; 2) Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data relevant to program(s) being evaluated; 3) Utilizing data analytics tools to conduct analysis of commonality and frequency incidents and allegations; and, 4) Managing the tracking and reporting systems to ensure information is accurate and reliable. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
