These positions are located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Inspection Division (IG), Office of Inspections, Arlington, Virginia. These positions primary purpose is to provide administrative and analytical support of Office of Inspections (IN) personnel related to division and Headquarters (HQ) inspections.

As a your typical work assignments may include: Serves as expert analyst on studies or projects that have significant impact on major organizational components. Coordinates and administers the evaluation process of the inspection program. Performs post-inspection analyses of responses to inspection findings and recommendations, and recommends new policies, procedures or systems to correct inadequacies or inefficiencies. Reviews, advises on, and conducts complex analyses and evaluations in support of organizational programs, systems, and processes, to include areas where definitions, method, and/or data is incomplete or controversial. Prepares and presents a variety of written and oral reports.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Assisting in conducting inspection analyses of waste, fraud or abuse; 2) Preparing various assessment reports; 3) Analyzing program financial, technical, procurement and scheduling information; 4) Monitoring effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations; and, 5) Developing recommendations to improve policies, programs, and/or area studies. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Competencies: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competencies in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProblem SolvingReasoningWriting Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
