About the Position: This position serves as the Scenario Planner for the Operations Group at the National Training Center.

Duties

The incumbent serves as plans Scenario Planner in the Plans Branch, Operations and Plans Division. Responsible for writing, coordinating the planning and execution of training scenario storylines (event threads and injects) and roles to replicate all aspects of a complex society necessary to train units and organizations. Provide training exercise scenario development and documentation activities for an integrated Live, Virtual, and Constructive training environment. Integrate and synchronize all war fighting functions with the rotational units. Tailor scenarios specifying joint and service specific training objectives and Mission Essential Task List of each task force and unit. Prepare, produce, and distribute intelligence products that replicate and present a road to war. Develop, provide, and coordinate the scripts, roles, and instructions for all role players for each rotation and scenario.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsMilitary Exercise PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
