About the Position: Serve as the primary staff officer (i.e., Squadron Adjutant or Brigade Assistant Adjutant) performing administrative and technical work and serving as the expert supporting one or more military and civilian personnel programs, operations, or functions.
Duties
Ensures military and civilian personnel program services are operated to mission objectives and provide installation, soldier, civilian, and family support meet.
Maintains accuracy of automated military and civilian personnel and other databases for military and civilian personnel functions supported.
Communicate with Human Resources personnel to ensure personnel actions are processed in a timely manner.
Works as the 5-1 and procedural authority on all aspects of military and civilian personnel administration and unit administrative services.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position may require some overtime work, both on a scheduled and emergency basis.
- The employee may be required to be on-call status after normal duty hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing administrative and technical support such as processing military and civilian personnel actions (such as pay, promotions, evaluations, awards, and separations), utilizing HR automated systems or office software programs to enter data, complete forms and assess statistical data from databases for accuracy, interpreting and/or applying regulations or procedural requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
