You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide engineering and planning services by developing and procuring non-standard nuclear and non-nuclear tools, equipment, and safety equipment required to support varied and complex industrial efforts at the Shipyard.
You will function as a Senior Engineering Technician in the Production Engineering and Facilities Division within the Operations Department.
You will develop specifications and ordering criteria for new, non-standard materials utilize by the Production Shops and Shop Stores Systems.
You will provide technical advice to Production Shops and other Shipyard Departments in the areas of industrial plant equipment, safety equipment, industrial materials and processes, and tooling.
You will provide technical field engineering and value analysis guidance to engineers related to component selection and design application based on commercially available materials.
You will clarify procurement requirements, and/or authorizing/recommending local manufacture to support production needs and timelines and schedules.
You will prepare equipment and tooling procurement specifications.
You will perform the duties of a Contracting Officer/Ordering Officer for Blanket Purchase Agreement Calls and Type I or II Indefinite Delivery Contracts by utilizing Wide Area Workflow (WAF) when addressing vendor invoices/payments.

- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering support services by developing technical specifications and ordering criteria for material, equipment and tool procurement, to support industrial operations.
