You will serve as a COMPUTER SCIENTIST in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION LAKEHURST (NAWCADLKE) SE & ALRE GROUP, Cyber Branch (BL33100) of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will perform a variety of other IT duties and responsibilities as assigned. You will certify systems or network accreditation. You will collaborate on security activities sufficient to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Cyberspace Workforce position, code 541: Vulnerability Assessment Analyst, proficiency level: Intermediate and 121: Exploitation Analyst, required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience: Develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services and capabilities; monitor and evaluate systems compliance with IT security requirements. Provide advice and guidance on implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. Interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency. Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist on critical IT issues. Apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems; and make decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency IT policies or programs. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
