This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure located in DISA - JFHQ- DODIN.
Duties
Provides protocol support to both the military leadership and civilian executives of the Command and other DoD Agencies on all matters relating to all special events.
Serves as an advisor and consultant to the Command Headquarters on event policies and procedures.
Directs all protocol requirements that include VIP Programs for visitors to JFHQ-DODIN, VIP packages, 3-star welcome letters, and coordinates all local complex services.
Develops, coordinates and prepares Director level replies to high priority and/or official correspondence and verbal inquiries from members OSD, state, and local government officials.
Manages the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences held by the Commander, Deputy Commander, Senior Executive, Chief of Staff and Joint Directors, other senior leadership of JFHQ-DODIN.
Serves as the point of contact for off-site events, conferences, and meetings held by the Commander, Deputy Commander, Senior Executive, Chief of Staff and Joint Directors, other senior leadership of JFHQ-DODIN.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a Top Secret/SCI position.
- This is a drug testing position, subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in planning, establishing, directing, and implementing protocols and policies for conferences, ceremonies, and special events. Coordinating conferences and/or social functions within the budgetary guidelines, knowledge of ceremonial forms, honors, courtesies, and etiquette in support of Distinguished Visitors; experience in analyzing, evaluating, and offering solutions to complex and highly sensitive issues that cut across cultural, political, and ethnic boundaries.

Education
