About the Position: This position is at Desmond Doss Health Clinic, in Schofield Barracks, HI.
Serves as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) and the Desmond Doss Health Clinic (DDHC).
Duties
Serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) and the Desmond Doss Health Clinic (DDHC).
Provide administrative and technical military personnel support, with responsibility for a variety of military personnel duties.
Communicate in writing, telephonically, electronically, and in person with military officers, military enlisted personnel, and civilians to determine the specific types of military actions required.
Maintain knowledge of military personnel programs through individual research and liaison with higher headquarters, Army Military Pay Office (AMPO), Defense Finance and Accounting System (DFAS), and Department of the Army (DA).
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- May be required to conduct Soldier readiness processing and/or man emergency operation centers in the event of emergency deployment readiness exercises or emergencies which require Human Resources Division employees to be present for duty.
- May be subject to recall to perform Emergency Leave Duty on a rotating basis with other division staff. This duty requires carrying an Emergency Leave cell phone for on-call duty for the duration of one week when scheduled for this duty.
- This position may be subject to Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- All employees assigned to a MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk, and are subject to missing/required immunizations.
- Seasonal Influenza Vaccination required.
- Incumbent must be a qualified typist.

Specialized Experience GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems and database systems to input, retrieve and query information; maintaining personnel and/or administrative office files; and responding to customer inquiries (walk-ins, emails or telephonically). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes applying military personnel regulations, policy and practices regarding military personnel programs; utilizing specialized automated systems supporting military personnel programs to retrieve data, review documents, and produce a variety of documents and other materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes applying military regulations, principles, practices to coordinate military personnel transactions such as Promotions, Reassignments, the military evaluation process and military awards; maintaining military service records; and performing in and out processing for military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
