Duties
Review and analyze various reports, statements, and requests concerning enlisted personnel assignments.
Advise and assist both staff and individuals concerned on the steps to be taken in the process of personnel actions.
Conduct annual records review for all assigned Soldiers directing the update of information.
Process enlisted and officer personnel actions.
Authenticate recommendations as to granting requests for deferments, retirements, extensions, reassignments and transfers in accordance with governing policies and regulations.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a variety of laws, principles, and practices to plan, coordinate, develop facts and/or resolve support problems regarding issues involving military personnel transactions, maintaining military service records and performing in and out processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
