You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the CYBERSECURITY ENGINEERING Branch (D44) in the CYBERSECURITY AND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING Division (D40) in the DIGITAL ENGINEERING Department (D00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, California.
Duties
You will analyze, manage, or perform the work to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain or modify computer software, hardware, or network systems,
You will sustain compliance with applicable DON Cybersecurity policy,
You will serve as the NSWC PHD technical representative at land based system integration and test facilities, contractor facilities, aboard ship, and Department of Defense organizations,
You will consult with customers to identify and specify hardware and software requirements, and develop and analyze system computer requirements,
You will determine and design computer hardware and software in support of systems architecture, writing and maintaining documentation,
You will manage the installation and integration of computer patches, updates and enhancements,
You will develop and maintain computer software, hardware, and network configuration management by tracking and problem and resolution databases,
You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve computer software, hardware, and network problems in response to customer reported incidents,
You will maintain systems configuration through formal documentation and process control, maintaining documented history of software changes and their effect on functionality, design, and Interfaces,
You will validate development, test and production of computer program or hardware processes through data analysis and process supervision in accordance with documented procedures, to assure software and systems quality and functionality,
You will assist in the information securing, monitoring, and documentation of weapon and combat systems, providing Cybersecurity solutions to support the Command and Fleet mission in accordance with applicable guidance.

- This is a Bargaining Unit position.

Qualifications
For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Information Technology (IT) principles to design, develop, test, integrate, or maintain software, hardware, or network systems while maintaining compliance with Cybersecurity policies in support of Naval combat or weapon system applications on land or afloat.
For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Information Technology (IT) principles to test, or maintain software, hardware, or network systems or applications to support maintaining organizational adherence to established Information Technology (IT) cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
You must also demonstrate attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify (GS-11 level only) with the following education:
-Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
-Completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
