This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for managing various aspects of the Joint Staff (JS) Insider Threat Program (InTP) and will represent the JS at a multitude of formal interagency committees and work groups. .
Duties
As a SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Establish and maintain a multi-disciplinary threat management capability to conduct and integrate the monitoring, detection, analysis, reporting, and response to insider threats.
Provide expert staff advice, interpretation, assistance, consultation, and information on all issues related to Insider Threat (InT).
Lead projects and coordinate teams concerned with the analysis, collection, correlation, review, and interpretation of employee related data to identify behavior indicative of an insider threat.
Maintain awareness of latest trends through trade reports, attendance at symposia, and personal contact with key personnel in the various related programs across the Executive Branch.
Attend internal and external training seminars or conferences on broad or more strategic subject areas and represents the JS position at various interagency forums.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Conducting and integrating the monitoring, detection, analysis, reporting, and response to insider threats, with an emphasis on Counterintelligence:
Utilizing the Insider Threat Program (InTP), ongoing security policies, procedures, and information technology to resolve major conflicts among stakeholders in order to comply with program policy and objectives;
Developing and implementing analytic strategies and administering threat assessments;
Advising senior staff, national and joint military superiors on new developments and advances in detection techniques to enhance national security posture.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
