About the Position: Serves as Cultural Resources Manager and primary point of contact in developing and administering the planning, design, execution, compliance, and monitoring of the program.

Duties

Ensures compliance with National Historic Preservation Act, Archeological Resources Protection Act, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and related Federal and State regulatory, supplemental statutory and administrative guidelines. Prepares, compiles, and maintains comprehensive control of all reports, documents, maps, files, papers, databases, records, audiovisual materials, artifacts, and any other information deemed valid to the Cultural Resources Management (CRM) program. Functions as technical expert in matters pertaining to historic legacy, preservation, and cultural resources. Directs, coordinates and performs field investigations to identify and inspect archeological, historical, and cultural resources. Prepares/approves portions of environmental impact statements and assessments related to cultural resources; coordinates with project engineers to ensure construction/renovation requirements won't adversely impact archeological and historic sites. Directs, coordinates and performs field investigations to inspect and collect samples of suspected lead-based paint and Asbestos Containing Material.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: History and ArchaeologyPartneringProject ManagementWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
