You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEM INTEGRATION DIVISION, MODERNIZATION AND INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will provide journeyman-level technical services related to the Integration, Test and Evaluation, and Life-cycle Engineering and Logistics support of Surface Combatant ships, their Combat Systems, Weapon Systems, and related support equipment. You will provide technical services required to execute complex projects and tasks associated with all elements of the Detect, Control, and Engage sequence, including launcher and missile components. You will provide technical services to ensure that Combat Systems and their elements are successfully integrated on Surface Combatants during availability and modernization events. You will review design and planning documents for Systems Integration and Interoperability considerations, evaluation of planned changes for conjunctive requirements, and review of planned test events to ensure requirements are addressed. You will provide technical services in support of maintenance and modernization efforts performed for Surface Ship availabilities. You will use test requirements, schedules, and resource information provided by numerous suppliers to provide technical expertise to identify requirements, plan tests, perform and oversee test execution, and report test results. You will identify issues, investigate, develop and test solutions, and field approved corrective actions.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing engineering and technical project requirements to conduct maintenance or modernization events and resolve technical issues for ship or aircraft systems projects.
