About the Position: Serves as a staff level Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) Specialist within the Headquarters, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply complex legislative, and regulatory decisions in the development of program plans.
Provide technical guidance on program implementation, evaluation and modification of the program.
Independently plan and organize work products, effectively negotiate/recommend to management actions involving multiple agencies and complex programs.
Ability to develop and coordinate fiscal planning and programming documents to support program development.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience managing or overseeing a Substance Abuse Prevention Program; initiating, designing, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating Substance Abuse Programs. Experience providing professional guidance, evaluations, and services to activities associated with the organization to encourage Substance Abuse Program participation. Gathering and analyzing data related to Substance Abuse Program operations and effectiveness, preparing and submitting reports to higher headquarters pertaining to Substance Abuse Programs.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????12).
