About the Position: Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist for Headquarters, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC), Public Affairs and Marketing Office. Serve as the lead responsible for developing and managing a global strategic Community Relations/Marketing Program for the Army's worldwide, felony-level criminal investigative organization.
Duties
Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist for the Army’s worldwide victim-centric felony-level criminal investigative organization.
Possess a wide breadth of public affairs and marketing experience to successfully fulfill the myriad of multi-tasking expertise required for this position.
Develop and execute comprehensive public relations/marketing activities that ensure the achievement of goals and objectives established by the DOD, Department of the Army, the Army CID Director, and the Army CID Chief of Public Affairs.
Develop and manage complex plans for specific issues, major projects, and events, while strategically addressing the needs of target audiences.
Ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective multimedia communication techniques and approaches are employed.
Implement and oversee outreach efforts that have a high degree of visibility, requiring liaison and interaction with senior public officials, military and civilian leaders, media representatives, and CID personnel.
Research, assemble, write, and disseminate sensitive, critical, and often complex information for the public, to include the national and international media, on a wide variety of law enforcement topics in support of the Army CID mission.
Ensure that information is released in accordance with DOD, Department of the Army, and CID guidelines in a sometimes stressful, fast-paced communication environment.
Possess a strong journalistic and public affairs background to successfully meld various requirements and security concerns into releasable products for an organization that is represented in more than 120 locations worldwide.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing and executing public affairs/marketing activities for an organization that conducts sensitive, complex operations comparable to worldwide felony-level criminal investigations and federal law enforcement; providing technical assistance with a federal organization's media and information programs; and providing guidance on highly visible, potentially controversial public affairs issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Education
