About the Position: You will serve as the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACIDC) Deputy Director of Public Affairs. As the Deputy, you will serve as second in responsibility with the USACID Public Affairs program.
Duties
Develop and maintain rapport and professional relationships with all interested parties while developing a two-way dialogue that enhances the understanding of the command's mission.
Advise the Communication Director and senior leadership on all aspects of planning and initiatives as the key facilitator for public affairs, crisis communication, and outreach efforts.
Design programs to increase understanding and acceptance of organizational goals and objectives with the command and in the public sector.
Orchestrate and synchronize public affairs programs requiring the full spectrum of communication assets, both within the command and from other entities.
Develop, plan for, and conduct the day-to-day business of the PAO by managing and assigning all internal and external tasks and routinely recurring requirements.
Plan, coordinate, resource, and direct proactive media and community outreach and engagement strategies that promote understanding of the mission.
Plan overall work to be accomplished, sets priorities and establishes basic timelines or suspense for completion.
Maintain a constant awareness of media trends and issues and identifies potential for problems, ensuring complex and potentially politically-sensitive information is presented in a clear, concise, and understandable format.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: provide guidance on highly visible, sensitive public affairs issues; assess performance of subordinate personnel; and convey accurate up-to-date information to the public in variety of different formats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
