Duties
You will plan, design, develop and execute campaigns to convey information concerning the agency's programs to individuals and organizations served affected by those programs.
You will use a variety of methods and techniques to achieve communication goals such as news releases, social media, website, personal appearances, exhibits, brochures, pamphlets, photography, etc.
You will draft/edit social media posts, talking points, speeches, articles, and other types of multi-media presentations, including PowerPoint, consistent with agency messages and priorities.
You will coordinate with community leaders and organizations for planning events and executing appropriate internal and external coverage for ceremonial and community activities, many of which are at the national level.
You will conduct liaison with other Public Affairs Specialist to review raw information and discuss preliminary projects designed and layout.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
FOR GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating communications planning (e.g., speech writing, social media, press releases, editing, photography, media relations) AND planning, designing, developing/disseminating public affairs information/materials to inform and educate the public about agency programs, products, services.
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with coordinating communications planning (e.g., speech writing, social media, press releases, editing, photography, media relations) AND planning, designing, developing/disseminating public affairs information/materials to inform and educate the public about agency programs, products, services.
