You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS (IS) DEPARTMENT (TRIREFFAC-600), TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY (TRIREFFAC) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will serve as the IT Specialist assisting with various duties in connection with IT equipment deployment, relocation, and retrieval, IT Asset Inventory, and Configuration Management.
You will analyze customer IS needs, assuring all hardware and software requests are supported and authorized in the current IT environment.
You will perform all duties associated with IS Configuration Management that includes hardware/software inventory control, software license reporting and accountability, and software certification verification.
You will provide a high level of expertise and perform duties that manage, administer, develop, deliver, and support special high level IS projects.
You will perform technical evaluations and benchmarks in support of the acquisition of computer resources, configuration management, justifying acquisition, utilization of IS equipment and information engineering.

- Must be able to lift or carry IT equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to travel to various buildings around the site to provide remote support.
- Call back and emergency overtime are regular requirements of this position.
- Occasional overnight travel is required to attend training, technical meetings and user conferences.
- This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) role of TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST proficiency level INTERMEDIATE and, as a condition of employment;
- The incumbent of the position is required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2. This designation requires:
- Participation in a continuous learning (CL) program described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan.
- Must obtain required credentials within 12 mos. of appt. and maintain credentials described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for DCWF role TECHNICAL SUPT SPEC (Code 411) level INTERMEDIATE. Please review SECNAV M-5239.2 Chapter 3, paragraph b (1) (g) 1.
- Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and /or adverse action up to removal from federal service.
Qualifications
For GS-11; Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing duties in a variety of Information system specialty areas for computer equipment analysis requiring a variety of techniques and methods to evaluate information system alternatives. Facilitating future changes in, or adaptation of Information equipment systems. CompTIA Security+ certified preferred or obtained within 1 year, Navy Marine Corps Intranet Assistant Contract Technical Representative requirements, IT procurement and contract support via government approved processes, and proficient in supporting Department of Defense customers with IT configuration management, desktop/software support and customer support.

3. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include receiving, responding to, and ensuring the resolution of well-precedented customer requests for assistance.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include monitoring network and systems performance and troubleshoots minor problems.
