About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army AMCOM, TMDE Activity at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Plan, formulate and execute budget obligations and expenditures utilizing automated financial management and accounting systems.
Provide guidance to Command Staff on budgetary legislation and Congressional Policy (i.e., Continuing Resolution Authority (CRA), DA and DoD policies, and regulations, processes and procedures which govern the Federal Budget process).
Analyze fiscal and budgetary regulations and directives in order to disseminate policies and guidelines.
Review, track, and execute organization labor requirements utilizing automated financial and accounting systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be willing to perform Temporary Duty (TDY) outside of assigned duty station 10% of the time.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- This position requires a DoD Financial Management Certification Level II within 24 months of entering the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes: Conducting budget execution for direct and reimbursable funding in a financial and accounting database; Analyzing budgets for the accomplishment of mission objectives in terms of reasonableness, accuracy, and efficient use of funds; Managing the request and issuance of program funds to assure prompt funding to prevent delays in vital programs; AND Presenting program and budget documentation to brief higher level leadership.
