You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the Facilities Sustainment (FS) Division, Execution Support Branch of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. A post allowance amount, (otherwise known as: COLA), of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. Post allowance is subject to change at any time. For additional information, please refer to the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Chapter 5 Part B.

Duties

You will perform the full range of procedural work of the office. You will maintain subject matter files and records that relate to the work of the unit. You will receive visitors and telephone calls to the office and take requests for appointments. You will use various software programs such as MAXIMO and DTS to prepare, process and follow-up on forms, i.e., training, travel orders other applicable forms. You will input/maintain time and attendance records in SLDCADA for personnel within the section. You will create and submit purchase requests to procure office supplies, safety equipment and training. You will schedule appoinments/meetings and make necessary arrangements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Receiving phone calls, greeting visitors and responding to routine requests for information. 2) Preparing documents and correspondence using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formatting. 3) Using two or more types of software (e.g., word processing and time keeping management) to create different types of documents, tables and reports. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
