About the Position: Serves as Senior Ordnance Management Analyst (Force Structure) advising the Chief of Ordnance (Branch Proponent) on all aspects of the Ordnance Corps force structure. Responsible for conducting analyses of all phases of projects programmed by the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of the Army (DA), U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASOM) in the Ordnance functional areas.
Duties
Makes recommendations to the Division Chief on specific problems identified by the study team members.
Leads team reviews of Tables of Organization (TOE) and equipment, to ensure the accuracy of the documented TOE.
Performs analysis of practical issues such as Sustainment operations, doctrine, tactics, system effectiveness, force design, force structure, and/or the employment of Sustainment systems.
Provides application of scientific methods, such as the use of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or other methods, to develop practical solutions to Ordnance problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Must be able to travel overnight within 1 to 2 weeks' notice.
- This position requires you to operate a government sedan or rental car while traveling.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as performing force structure with analytical and evaluative methods, possessing a comprehensive understanding of requirements and authorizations for numbers and types of equipment and manpower requirements, conducting studies related to Ordnance functional areas and identification of organizational improvements, providing expert guidance and information regarding force structure, design, application, and documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
