You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Integrated Combat Environments Div of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will independently plan, organize, and carry out complete technical security reviews, tests and evaluations of new or modified electronic systems and facilities. You will give oral technical briefings to the customer detailing test results, conclusions, and recommendations. You will carry out, monitors or directs the implementation of required technical security test operations. You will review test data for adequacy, reliability, and validity. You will implement unique security requirements related to personnel, operations security, physical security, test security, information assurance, monitoring and inspections while assisting the program in meeting its mission. You will plan, organize, and conduct comprehensive technical security evaluations of F-35 facilities, navy aircraft, navy aircraft electronic systems, subsystems, and components.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) The security specialist must have a comprehensive knowledge of TEMPEST (electromagnetic and NONSTOP) test methodologies. 2.) Review specifications, design plans, contractor test and control plans, and mission objectives to determine data acquisition problems, complications and in completeness of specifications and mission usage and limitations. 3.) Independently studies, reviews, and evaluates new or modified facilities, complex electronic systems, subsystems and components. 4.) Knowledge and ability necessary to develop comprehensive reports of technical security test results, conclusions and recommendations to defend and explain findings and actions to leadership. 5.) Experience performing Shielding Effectiveness (SE) Testing. 6.) Supporting a Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority (CTTA).
