This position is concurrently open to Merit Promotion eligibles under Announcement Number BLM-NM-24-12327521-MP-OPM.

Duties
Serve as a district/field office technical expert in the records maintenance and records protection program.
Perform technical planning, controlling, organizing, promoting and other activities involved with respect to records creation, records maintenance/use and disposition.
Ensure compliance of quality assurance standards and procedures.
Ensure the adequacy of technical and automation compliance with federal laws, regulations, and guidance, and advise managers on any issues in
this area.
Maintain and manage physical records in accordance with BLM and Department records management goals, objectives, and priorities.
Requirements

- You cannot hold an active real estate license, nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
- If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- Required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) maintaining physical records in accordance with records management policies; (2) auditing records for accuracy and completeness; (3) converting paper records to electronic format to include indexing and importing electronic files; (4) scanning work to provide administrative support and electronic reproduction services to facilitate the work of others.
