You will serve as a IT SPEACIALIST in the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFACENGCOM), NAVFAC Information Technology Center (NITC), reporting to Command Information Office (CIO) Headquarters. NAVFACENGCOM is the Naval Shore Facilities, Base Operating Support, and Expeditionary Engineering Systems Command that delivers life-cycle technical solutions aligned to meet Fleet and Marine Corps priorities. of NAV FAC ENG AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CTR.

Duties

You will develop information technology (IT) configuration management lifecycle processes for use in the implementation of software applications. You will manage customer information technology (IT) systems or subsystems to support an organization's projects. You will conduct feasibility studies to verify information systems align with life cycle management standards. You will manage server operations to implement server performance, systems security, and application operations resource planning. You will conduct feasibility studies of information systems to identify problems and recommend solutions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION), proficiency level (451) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Applying systems analysis concepts and methods, customer business requirements, applications software design concepts and methods and customer support principles to develop technical requirements for new or modified applications; 2) Leading a major operating systems project; e.g., installation of new operating environments or implementation of new operating systems patches, upgrades, and releases; 3) Evaluating the impact of new and proposed applications on the operating environment and recommending changes to ensure the functionality and stability of the operating environment; 4) diagnose and recover failed systems to optimize the functionality of networks and systems NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume.
