About the Position: Serve as an Emergency Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Headquarters in Cincinnati, OH.

Duties

Serve as the Division Program Manager (PM) and principal advisor responsible for the management, coordination, and direction of all Emergency Operations Program (EOP) activities through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Serve as the program manager and director of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Emergency Relocation Site (ERS), and Alternate Headquarters (AH). Manage the Emergency Operations Center activities during actual emergencies. The Emergency Operations Program Manager is responsible for the selection, training, and exercising of the Division emergency response teams. Emergency Operations Program Manager develops necessary cost data and provides overall management of emergency related funds. Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for activation of the EOC, alert procedures, use of EOC equipment to include radio, electronic mail, fax, and secure/non-secure telephone.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program".
  • Incumbent will be required to remain readily accessible during potential emergency conditions to commence work quickly and to serve on 24 hour call.
  • Response to disasters or emergencies will be within 6 hours of notification and being prepared to stay for a minimum of 30 days at a time.
  • Incumbent is expected to be an active member of a Regional and/or National team involved in disaster/emergency response and/or recovery support.
