You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the Customer Support Branch (Code 1042) of the NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, California.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $156,323.)
Duties
You will assist in the responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, and sustaining IT customer services for Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWCPHD).
You will assist in the analysis of vulnerabilities of specific technologies or products; and providing recommendations for the coherent and cohesive method for delivering IT service and application support.
You will assist with the implementation and maintenance of the activity's IT service management program and plans and defines solutions to meet command-wide IT service requirements.
You will formulate and recommend new solutions, processes, and supplements that support command digital requirements.
You will participate in computer security test and evaluation, perform and evaluate the results of testing, recommends appropriate corrective action when deficiencies are identified.
You will lead a team of Government and contractor IT support personnel and advises management on the full range of issues relative to IT security, IT services, IA policy, IT procurement, and related subjects.
You will continuously conduct internal reviews, evaluations and assurances of fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities of IT and software material and services procurement.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411, level basic, within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing application software requirements to monitor technical performance or vulnerabilities and develop IT solutions impacting customer service delivery to ensure compliance.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
