Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To Serve as a senior Air Force readiness analyst for joint readiness issues and products and to provide Air Force military rated aviator expertise in planning, developing, and evaluating readiness analytic products.
Using AF military rated aviator experience and expertise, develops, interprets, and prepares joint readiness position papers, products, and presents high level briefing of conclusions.
Applying Air Force military rated aviator experience, analyzes, develops and evaluates detailed readiness plans, goals and objectives to include support of the planning, programming, and budget actions/processes for long-range implementation.
Documents readiness decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force, Major Command, Joint Staff and Office of the Secretary of Defense requirements.
Maintains a continuous liaison with other Air Staff, service headquart6ers counterparts, DoD office and Joint Staff offices to integrate Air force readiness information.

Qualifications
AFI 90-508, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program dtd 28 Aug 14, states that: Core personnel documents/position descriptions for positions identified as TDP under these procedures will be documents with the statement: This is a drug testing designated position. The incumber is subject to random testing for drug use.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management, Management and Program Analysis Series 0343
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Examples of specialized experience includes Mastery of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of Air Force Readiness; and to evaluate Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, MAJCOM and Air Staff responses to readiness products. Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive readiness studies and preparing solutions to especially broad, important and severe readiness issues.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of Air Force readiness to include joint readiness products.
Knowledge of readiness goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key readiness improvement events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of actions taken.
Knowledge of the relationship of the various Air Force entities involved in the Air force and Joint readiness processes.
Knowledge of AF military rated aviator, e.g. pilot, combat systems operator, expertise as it applies to assigned readiness programs.
Ability to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
