About the Position: This is a Human Resources Assistant (Military/OA) position located with the Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division, ID Cards Section, located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Duties

Responsible for the independent processing of a variety of military personnel transactions and/or review and verification of transactions and reports for factual accuracy, procedural and substantive sufficiency. Incumbent selects and applies a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and programs. Responsible for Military Human Resources, which establish the operating parameters and provides the general objectives and priorities. Advise Brigade, Battalion, and Unit personnel leadership on procedures, regulations, and policies on military personnel actions. Perform duties related with in-processing/out-processing, military ID cards, Reassignment, and other military actions. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A qualified typist is required to perform the office Automation duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceMilitaryPersonnel Action Processing and Recordkeeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
