This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Information Systems Division, Finance and Administration Section, Financial Management Unit. This position(s) primary purpose is to provide authoritative advice to the Section Chief for financial laws and policy, resource allocation, contracting requirements, and the multi-year budget process including formulation and program execution.

As a your typical work assignments may include: Advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selecting or recommending selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Managing process improvements and maintaining liaison roles with senior management partners. Presenting detailed and comprehensive reports. Assesses and revises policies and procedures to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency. Serving as an agency expert on budgetary and financial management issues and activities. All budgetary and financial management matters.

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates your ability in: 1) Providing technical guidance in all matters regarding financial and budgetary issues; 2) Planning and directing all section operating accounts, as the supervisory technical authority on all budgetary/ financial matters; 3) Developing, implementing, and evaluating status reporting and tracking systems in conjunction with receipt and allocation of various accounts' funding and the obligation and expenditure of funds; and, 4) Organizing work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13.The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
