You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist representing the Marine Corps' Service-level Intelligence Center as the Subject Matte Expert (SME) on China. This position is located in Quantico, VA in the S2 Directorate of Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA).

Duties

You will prepare intelligence estimates and forecasts for the Marine Corps leadership on timely and critical aspects of Chinese military and national security policy to area of expertise in order to obtain the outcome between the U.S. and China. You will conduct routine and non-routine briefings to the DIRINT and other Marine Corps leadership in order to prepare leadership for briefings in meetings with key leadership throughout the Intelligence Community. You will represent the Marine Corps at Intelligence Warning Meetings with authority to brief and gather predictions regarding impending events of major national security importance. You will collaborate with other partners internal and external throughout the Intelligence Community on areas regarding China. You will brief Marine Corps leadership in preparation for key meetings and decisions related to Chinese military capabilities, national security policy, and internal developments.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing advanced knowledge of Chinese military, national security, political, economic, or cultural trends to formulate finished intelligence products; 2) Conducting intelligence analysis regarding China and utilizing formulated intelligence data in the preparation of agency staff estimates and decision-making; 3) Preparing intelligence estimates and forecasts for agency leadership on critical aspects of Chinese military and national security policy; 4) Providing responses to routine and non-routine intelligence queries regarding China to agency leadership; . 5) Utilizing proven project management certification (PMP, etc.); and, 6) Utilizing an understanding of and experience with the Intelligence Community and existing professional networks to leverage in order to support production and analysis.
