About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade on Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington.
This position may be filled as a time-limited assignment NTE 13 months. See 'Additional Information' section for further guidance.
Duties
Coordinate planning missions with managers and employees to revise or develop contingency plans.
Manage internal and external taskings; write Operations Orders (OPORDS), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOS), and Memorandums of Instructions (MOIs).
Maintain various peacetime and wartime contingency plans standard operating procedures, policies and procedures.
Prepare plans in support of contingency operations to include battalion integrated contingencies and movement of forces and personnel.
Participate in training exercises directed by higher headquarters.
Assist in all areas of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) planning and execution.
Requirements

- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This position requires the incumbent to work extended hours during training exercises.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing and presenting briefings; 2) Assisting with work studies and developing solutions based on studies conducted; or 3) Assisting with the development of emergency and/or contingency plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or another related field. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
