About the Position: This position is in the Logistics Readiness Center in the 404th Army Field Support Brigade and serves as a liaison between local Civilian personnel Advisory Centers and managers. This position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. See 'Additional Information' section for further guidance.

Duties

Responsible for planning, monitoring, and implementing military personnel management. Manage civilian and military personnel (enlisted/officer) strength within the organization. Request replacement and reassignment actions for civilian, enlisted and officer personnel based on projected requirements. Apply regulations, policies, and precedents to civilian and military personnel staffing functions for military personnel serviced by the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC). Provide military personnel support.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on human resources actions in at least two of the three following: 1) creating or processing personnel actions in an automated system; 2) reviewing table of distribution and allowances (TDA) for accuracy; or 3) assisting in reviewing awards for processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Management, Public Administration, or another related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Managing Human ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
