About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 88th Readiness Division, Reserve Personnel Action Center (RPAC) Aurora HUB (88XSA) located in Aurora, CO. Duties

Research complex pay actions. Prepare a wide variety of military personnel actions. Maintain military personnel files to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Research and analyze data to identify trends and report the results to management. Provide technical advice on establishment and maintenance of military pay accounts ensuring complains with laws and regulations. Provide guidance on administrative and military personnel matters. Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures assuring uniform interpretation and application.

Requirements

  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends to include modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.
  • This position requires a SECRET security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing military personnel actions; researching or analyzing pay issues; reviewing incoming regulations; ensuring compliance with rules and regulations; advising on pay and personnel processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Human Resources. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Fundamentals and Operations of Military and Civilian PayManages and Organizes InformationPersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
