You will serve as an AIRCRAFT OVERHAUL AND REPAIR SUPERVISOR in the Industrial Execution Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will assign work to shop artisans through subordinate leaders indicating methods and equipment to be used.
You will track and monitor all work within assigned areas, while looking for cost overruns, inefficiency, incorrect workload standards, training, deficiencies, support deficiencies, etc.
You will take steps to resolve problems by determining the cause, finding solutions, and taking corrective action.
You will observe work in progress to assure on time completion and verify the quality going into the product.
You will maintain administrative records for employees to include time and attendance, man hours expended, and labor attestations.
You will participate in the hiring or promotion process of candidates by serving as a rating panel member or serving as an EEO representative.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You may be required to work all shifts on a rotational basis and work overtime.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Position is subject to various noise levels, with continuously exceed 85 DBA and often exceed 105 DBA.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must obtain and maintain all required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION, and includes the following: 1) Apply journeyman level knowledge and experience from various aircraft platforms and trades sufficient to direct the work of shop artisans in accomplishing trade and labor operations; 2) Manage manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and other resources to accomplish work operations; 3) Establish priorities, deadlines, and task sequencing to comply with productions plans; and 4) Communicate with management on a variety of issues as well as communicate with shop artisans and other technical employees on compliance issues and work requirements.
