About the Position: Serves as the Senior Civilian Deputy to the Material Management Branch Chief a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist within the 1st Theater Sustainment Command Support Operations.
Telework is on a situational basis only and at the discretion of management and as mission dictates.
This position is Emergency Essential and deployable.
Duties
Coordinates the duties across a large organization to accomplish the command's external logistical support mission.
Oversees fleet maintenance, supply, field services, and munitions management sections.
Manages field and sustainment maintenance support activities requirements to include property accountability and lifecycle management.
Directs the work of the organization through subordinate personnel. Plans and schedules work to be accomplished by subordinates.
Resolves work problems presented by subordinates. Prepares performance standards appraisals of employees.
Manages, programs, and estimates resource requirements for all theater supply and maintenance programs.
Uses organizational missions and functions, to recommend improvements and simplifications in mission accomplishment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- This is a deployable position and a pre-deployment physical is required.
- This position may require the incumbent to travel on military and commercial aircrafts.
- This position will require the incumbent to work under adverse environmental conditions and possibly live under field conditions.
- This position may require the incumbent to travel for long periods away from the normal duty station to include CONUS or OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- OGE-450 Confidential Financial Disclosure Agreement required.
- 30% temporary duty (TDY) travel required.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a military driver’s license.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.
- One-year employee probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.
- Secret security clearance required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinating with staff and leadership to resolve logistics operation issues; 2) recommending actions and initiatives to enhance logistics management effectiveness; 3) coordinating and direct project management over logistics operations; 4) managing logistic operations and combat service support such as deployment, redeployment, and movement of material between organizations.
