About the Position:
Serves as the Senior Civilian Deputy to the Support Operations Officer (SPO) 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC) planning and managing Combat Service Support.
Duties
Provide program continuity and advice to the Support Operations Officer to maintain and improve logistics operations within USARCENT and CENTCOM.
Manage all combat service support and logistics operations executed by the command.
Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and systems within the theater to sustain logistics support operations and analyzes new requirements, missions, and changing operational environments.
Oversee overall budgetary planning for Directorate.
Supervise subordinate directors/division chiefs in the establishment of goals and objectives, work planning and organization, work assignments, and personnel management responsibilities.
Maintain an overview of USARCENT military operations, training, and readiness identifying and defining logistics support requirements independent of specific requests for support.
Requirements

- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinating with staff and leadership to resolve CONUS and OCONUS logistics operation issues; 2) recommending actions and initiatives to enhance logistics management effectiveness to a military chain of command; 3) coordinating and directing project management over military or civilian logistics operations; 4) managing logistic operations and combat service support to include deployment, redeployment, and movement of material between CONUS and OCONUS organizations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
